Part 27: The Impact of the Resurrection

Jun 7, 2026    Matt Rummage

What if the resurrection never happened? This profound question challenges us to examine the very foundation of our faith. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 15, we're confronted with the stark reality that without the resurrection, we would have nothing to preach, nothing to believe, no forgiveness of sins and no hope beyond the present. The empty tomb isn't just a historical event—it's God's signature of acceptance on the price Jesus paid for our sins.

When we truly grasp this truth, it transforms everything. The resurrection guarantees our own future resurrection, reverses the curse brought by Adam, and assures us that Jesus currently reigns as victor over sin and death. But here's the challenging question we must each answer: Do we truly believe this, and does the world know we believe it?

Our faith isn't meant to end within church walls. If the resurrection is real to us, it should radically shape how we live, love, lead, and engage with the world around us. We're called to stop wasting time on complaints and criticism, and instead focus on our walk with God and His mission to make disciples.

The resurrection means death is temporary, but the urgency of sharing this good news is immediate.
