Part 11: Status, Singleness, and Marriage

What if everything we've been taught about success, fulfillment, and life goals has been shaped more by culture than by Scripture? This exploration of 1 Corinthians 7 challenges us to reconsider our deepest assumptions about status, relationships, and contentment. Paul's radical message to the Corinthian church cuts through our modern obsession with climbing social ladders and achieving relationship milestones. Whether we find ourselves in a job we like or don’t like, single or married, struggling financially or thriving, the gospel offers something revolutionary: the ability to be fully content and purposeful exactly where we are right now. This isn't about settling or lowering our expectations, it's about elevating our primary goal from temporary happiness to eternal impact. When our main objective shifts from self-fulfillment to glorifying God and advancing His kingdom, suddenly our circumstances become less about what we lack and more about how God can use us. The most convicting truth is that God didn't place us in our current season by accident. He can use us powerfully as single people with undivided devotion, as married couples on mission together, as employees in jobs we don’t love, or as people navigating financial constraints. The question isn't whether our circumstances will change, but whether we'll stop waiting for change before we start living with purpose.
