Everyone's Greatest Need

This powerful exploration of Romans 3:9-26 confronts us with an uncomfortable but liberating truth: we are not naturally good people. Drawing from the honest answers of preschoolers about their greatest need, we're reminded that our deepest need isn't material or circumstantial, it's spiritual. The message walks us through three critical questions: Why do we have such a great need? What is our greatest need? And how is that need met? We discover that we're born spiritually dead, not just spiritually sick. Like a corpse with no pulse, we cannot revive ourselves no matter how hard we try. This isn't about being discouraged, it's about understanding the magnitude of God's grace. The text reveals that none of us are righteous, not even one, and that our best deeds are like filthy rags before a holy God. Yet the word 'but' in verse 21 changes everything. Our greatest need is to be made righteous, and this righteousness comes not through our efforts but as a free gift through faith in Jesus Christ. The concept of justification, redemption, and propitiation shows us that Jesus didn't just make us better, He made us completely new. When we understand that our confidence rests not in a prayer we prayed or good works we've done, but in what Jesus accomplished on the cross, we find true assurance. This message challenges us to examine ourselves honestly and ask: Are we trusting in ourselves or in Christ alone?
