Sermon Series: Reputation Matters Part Five: The Power of Godly Wisdom, Continued

Oct 19, 2025    Matt Rummage

In this exploration of 1 Corinthians 3, we're challenged to examine the foundation of our faith and the way we build upon it. Paul's metaphor of the church as God's field and building reminds us that we're all on the same team, working towards a common goal. The message emphasizes unity in Christ, warning against divisions and the dangers of exalting human leaders above God. We're called to reflect on our motivations: are we building with gold, silver, and precious stones that will endure God's refining fire, or with wood, hay, and straw that will be consumed? This sobering reminder of the coming judgment for believers encourages us to align our hearts with Christ's, focusing on eternal impact rather than temporary acclaim. As God's temple, we're urged to recognize the sacredness of our calling and the presence of the Holy Spirit within us. This message invites us to mature in our faith, moving beyond spiritual infancy to become effective co-laborers in God's kingdom.
